Arrival at the marina is ideally on Saturday from 4pm. Boarding on the boat takes place around 5.30 pm. A WhatsApp group will be set up for schedule/info updates.

Departure is on the following Saturday, starting at 8 am. The last night, Friday evening, is spent on board the boat, moored in the marina.

Cooking and dining

How is the cooking on board during a Discovery Cruise?

During Discovery cruises, meals are prepared by the participants, who also organize the shopping before departure (unless you opt for the formula with groceries included). The skipper does not intervene in the preparation of meals but remains available to advise or help if necessary.

Cooking and dining

Are there options for specific diets?

Of course! On board, all meals are prepared with local, organic and quality ingredients, mostly vegetarian. Flexible options are available to meet your specific needs (gluten-free, vegan, etc.). All 3 meals are included in your stay, with the exception of alcohol and meals taken ashore. Plan two dinners at local restaurants, including one to celebrate the final evening.

Cooking and dining

How is the cooking on board during an Immersion cruise?

On board, cooking is a moment of conviviality and sharing. Participants take turns in pairs to prepare meals using Mediterranean recipes, carefully selected by your skipper, who is passionate about balanced and gourmet cuisine, offering recipes that combine pleasure and health. All ingredients are of organic quality and locally sourced where possible.

The last dinner takes place in a restaurant near the marina - as the boat must be returned on Friday in the late afternoon. During the week, depending on the route, we can also enjoy a dinner in a typical restaurant on an island, in order to discover local culinary specialties. A budget for 2 dinners at the restaurant is therefore to be expected.

Travelling light is essential due to limited space on board. You will have equipment such as masks, snorkels, paddles and other accessories available. We do our best to organize the sharing of cabins in an optimal way, generally involving people of the same sex. If you have a particular preference, feel free to mention it. For fans of starry nights, it is also possible to sleep outside, comfortably sheltered — an experience often cited as one of the most memorable moments of the cruise!

Activities and stops

What if I can't stand promiscuity?

When cruising, there are always ways to find privacy and enjoy time for yourself. Whether it's swimming in the crystal-clear waters, reading a book at the front of the boat, taking a break in your cabin, or setting off to walk on the rocks during a stopover, there are plenty of options available to you to refocus and relax in peace and quiet.

Well-being on board

How is SAILORAH more than just a skipper service?

SAILORAH offers a unique experience thanks to the expertise of Alice, a holistic therapist and experienced skipper. Her natural kindness, her listening skills and her communication skills, which come from her job as a therapist, create a warm and secure environment. Every detail is designed for the well-being of participants: choice of healthy and delicious food, equipment dedicated to comfort and relaxation, and a constant concern to take care of each person on board, well beyond the expectations of a classic cruise.

Well-being on board

Should I be worried about seasickness?

The sailboats I select (monohulls and catamarans) are modern, large and very stable, which considerably reduces wave movements. The itineraries are designed to minimize this risk by sailing near islands, which act as natural barriers against waves. If necessary, your skipper, also a therapist, can accompany you with natural remedies, pressure bracelets and tablets against seasickness. In general, the body acclimatizes quickly, and the first night on board is often enough to make you feel "marinated" (acclimated to life at sea). Contact me before departure for personalized advice.

Well-being on board

How does the sea benefit our overall health?

“Blue Health” highlights the positive effects of the sea on our overall health (physical, mental, emotional). Direct contact with water improves self-esteem, soothes the autonomic nervous system through its calming effect on the body, and stimulates the secretion of pleasure hormones such as serotonin and dopamine. In addition, the sensory stimuli transmitted by water promote the oxygenation of organs and the brain, offering a feeling of renewal and overall well-being.

As one patient with depression once said:” Water has healed me more than fifteen years of medication ”. Water is an optimal immersive experience, capable of profoundly transforming our well-being.

Are there any requirements to participate in an Immersion Cruise?

  • Be interested in personal development and human well-being.
  • Enjoy the sea, be attracted to sailing or be curious to discover it.
  • No sailing experience is required. If you want to learn the basics, I will be happy to introduce you.
  • Be ready to experience community life on board a sailboat.

What if I don't know how to swim?

It is best to know how to swim to get the most out of the sea experience. However, if you are not completely comfortable in the water, I provide equipment such as life jackets, swimming platforms, floating noodles, and safety lines. I make sure everyone can feel confident and enjoy the cruise.

Navigation

What if I have no sailing experience?

No sailing experience is needed! If you wish, I will be happy to guide you in discovering the basics of navigation.

Navigation

Can the itineraries be changed?

At the start of the cruise, a provisional itinerary is presented according to the weather conditions and the expectations of the participants. However, adjustments may be required along the way due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather or safety issues. The skipper, who has full authority on board, can change the itinerary if necessary. Any request for changes from participants will be taken into account, but the final decision is up to the skipper.

Navigation

How long do we sail each day?

On average, we sail about 3 hours a day (with swim stops!) , depending on weather conditions.

Navigation

Are we really sailing?

Yes! We use sails as soon as possible, depending on weather conditions and wind direction. The itinerary is often adapted to take advantage of the best navigation conditions and chosen according to the needs of the internship workshops. If the wind weakens or if we need to arrive on time at a port, or a cove, we sometimes use the engine, but we always prefer to sail as soon as possible.

Navigation

Is it risky to sail?

Sailing at sea may seem daunting, but your cruise is supervised by a qualified and experienced skipper who is available 24 hours a day.

Croatia is one of the safest places to sail, there is always a port near a small, welcoming village or an island behind which to take shelter. The weather conditions are generally favorable, with moderate winds that allow for comfortable and safe navigation.

What is the best time to organize a cruise in Croatia?

The sailing season extends from May to October. To avoid the crowds and enjoy pleasant temperatures, I recommend the months of May, June and September. The months of July and August are also very pleasant, because the diversity of anchorages available allows you to always find a peaceful place away from the crowds.
